Who's the goat for Tech fans? Kicker Travis Bell pushed two key field goals wide and will definitely get some of the blame, but it was always sticky-fingered Calvin Johnson who dropped the open, well thrown touchdown pass from Reggie Ball into the waiting hands of Garland Heath. Then again, who can blame C.J., without whose typically dominating nine-catch, one touchdown performance the Jackets would have never been in the game to begin with? Or does some blame go to a Georgia Tech defense that played extremely well overall but gave up two rather cheap big play scores to some receiver named Brian Clark, off the extremely pedestrian arm of one of the most limited quarterbacks SMQ has seen in a big-time college game in recent memory? N.C. State so consistently restricted Jay Davis to screens and quick, safe throws into the flat that, on Clark's go-ahead scoring reception, Georgia Tech's entire defense was flowing hard to tight end T.J. Williams on a shallow out, allowing Clark to easily exploit the middle of the field on a quick slant that put him all by his lonesome for the next 80 yards.
